Everton sign Tyler Dibling from Saints.
Tyler Dibling from Southampton has officially joined Everton in a move valued at up to £42 million. Saints have added a 20% sell-on fee, and it is believed that the Merseyside club will pay an initial £35 million for the forward, who has signed a four-year contract.
Despite Southampton having a terrible season that culminated in relegation, Dibling made an impression in the Premier League last season. After having trouble settling, the England Under-21 winger returned to Southampton a month after joining Chelsea in the summer of 2022.
“I think I’ve come to Everton at the perfect time and hopefully I can be here for many years,” Dibling said.
“I think the manager is perfect for me,” Dibling said. “He’s helped so many players before who were in my position. I’ve spoken to him and I know he’s going to be good for me. There are so many players here to learn from, real quality players like Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye.”
Following his breakthrough at Southampton, when he made his debut at the age of 17, Dibling was pursued by a number of teams, including RB Leipzig, Tottenham, and Aston Villa. At the age of 15, he played for Saints’ under-21 team and gained notoriety after scoring a nearly identical hat-trick against Newcastle at St. James’ Park.
