Football Club’s London Olympic Stadium is set to undergo a name change. The
internationally renowned insurance company, Allianz, will be joining in as a
sponsor, providing West Ham United with a fee of around £40 million in exchange
for naming rights. West Ham United can use this money to renovate the stadium.
Allianz is a multinational financial services company headquartered in Munich,
and they already have naming rights for Bayern Munich’s home stadium, which is
well-known to fans and the football community. Although the official new name
for the London Olympic Stadium after the change is not yet known, the most
speculated name at the moment is “London Allianz Stadium.” The London
Olympic Stadium, located in a prime location in London, has also gained
popularity in recent years by hosting star-studded concerts and even Major
League Baseball games, showcasing the allure of the stadium.
