Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt recently appeared in a Star Sports promo for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, expressing her support for the Indian women’s cricket team.
Known for her powerful roles in films like Raazi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Dear Zindagi, Alia continues to champion women-centric stories with her upcoming film Jigra, where she plays a protective sister.
In the promo, Alia passionately encouraged fans to rally behind Harmanpreet Kaur and her team as they aim to make “HerStory” in the tournament.
The Women’s T20 World Cup begins on October 3, with India set to play their first match against New Zealand on October 4 in Dubai. India is placed in Group A alongside New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and defending champions Australia.
India will also face Pakistan on October 6 and take on Sri Lanka and Australia later in the group stage. Before the tournament, the Indian team will play two warm-up matches against the West Indies and South Africa in Dubai.
