Zanden Jeh and Hayden Kerr handed Queensland contracts.
All-rounder Hayden Kerr and left-arm spinner Zanden Jeh, who played for Australia A before making appearances at the state level, have been awarded contracts by Queensland for the 2025–2026 campaign.
Having never played domestically, Jeh, 22, was a surprise choice for the Top End series versus Sri Lanka A. Before playing in all of the four-day matches and taking four wickets, he got his List A debut in the third one-day match.
His appearances for Australia He will be signed by Queensland for the forthcoming season after triggering an automatic upgrade to a state contract.
To replace Ben McDermott, who was released from his contract a year early after requesting to return to Tasmania for personal reasons, Kerr was signed to a two-year contract after being dismissed off the New South Wales list earlier this year.
Kerr, 29, is a left-arm seamer and right-handed batsman who has participated in 13 List A games and made nine first-class outings. Although he is now uncontracted for the upcoming season, he has been a consistent player for the Sydney Sixers in the BBL.
“We are very excited to have Zanden on our list after he narrowly missed out on a contract this season,” Joe Dawes, QC’s general manager of elite cricket, said. “He no doubt learnt a lot and performed really well in Darwin, and I know the coaches are excited at having him in and around the group fulltime.
“With Liam Guthrie relocating to England, Hayden will reinforce our pace bowling depth and add his left-arm variety to the squad. He’s a talented all-round cricketer who has had a few injury setbacks in the past, so we’re excited to provide an environment for him to showcase his skill.”
